Jane Bergeron
Jane Bergeron is a professional actor, director and theatre educator. Currently she is head of the Theatre Studies program at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney where she lectures in acting and directing. Before moving to Australia, she taught acting and voice at the University of Southern Maine and was artistic director of Vintage Repertory Company where she staged over 40 productions, including works by Shakespeare, Moliere, Ibsen, Chekhov, Beckett, Albee and Pinter.
In 2001, Jane was awarded a two-year teaching fellowship at Boston University's School of Theatre Arts. She has conducted numerous workshops, artist-in-residencies, and master classes in the UK, Australia and the US for both student and professional actors, several of whom have gone on to successful careers both on- and off-Broadway as well as in film and TV. She has taught workshops at the Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival, and leads professional development workshops for teachers, mediators and lawyers both in Sydney and abroad.
